Fostering and Adoption
Hill Country Cats is not a shelter or rescue organization, but we do foster kittens and adopt them out from Pet Supplies Plus in Marble Falls secondary to our TNR mission.
HCC Fostering is limited by the number of fosters that we have. Sick or injured kittens may not be accepted for fostering due to our limited means. HCC fosters are experienced and loving; all kittens adopted out will be spayed or neutered, socialized, litterbox trained, given flea meds, rabies shot and 1-2 FVRCP vaccines. Your adoption fee will be about half of what you’d pay at your local vet for these services.
Adoptable HCC kitties may often be seen at Pet Supplies Plus in Marble Falls or on our web-site under “Kittens available for adoption.” Call or text us at 830-598-9883 for further information.
Barn Cats
HCC’s colony caregivers also can sometimes recommend fixed cats that would make good barn cats. HCC will adopt out such cats, usually in pairs, to farmers, ranchers, and other property owners for feline control of vermin. The prospective adopter must agree to feed and care for the barn cats as needed. To ask about adopting HCC barn cats, call 830-598-9883.
Can I Foster Kittens for HCC?
Foster kittens can range in age from “bottle babies” to a few months old. Fosters get litters based on the number of kittens that they can handle. We supply everything you will need to take care of your foster kittens, including training. They will require food, water, litter boxes and lots of snuggle time! If they become ill, we can arrange for them to get into a vet’s office quickly. If you are wondering whether you have the experience to do this, wonder no more! We will teach you what you need to know and help you get these babies to their forever homes.
We will never force you into a situation where you don’t feel comfortable about your abilities and the care needed for kittens. We will match you with kittens you feel comfortable taking care of. We will also provide the training and supplies that you need.
If you have a heart for helping animals in need, this is a great place to start. HCC needs fosters; please call 830-598-9883 to get started.
